Coins under graduation cap The Running Start program covers tuition up to 1.2 FTE (Full Time Equivalent) between college and high school courses over the fall, winter, and spring quarters. However, the program is not free. Students will need to pay for textbooks, course fees, and supplies. Please work with your student to get their books purchased and their fees paid on time.

Fee Waivers

Students who have qualified for the Free & Reduced Lunch Program anytime in the past five years qualify for a fee waiver. The waiver covers fees (except for consumables) and tuition & fee costs above the 1.2 FTE funding limits (above 100 level courses only). Students are required to pay any fees & tuition not covered by the waiver.

Textbook Assistance Program

Students who qualify for Free lunch through the Free & Reduced Lunch Program qualify for the Running Start Book Assistance Program. Students must qualify annually by filling out an application available through their school district. The Book Assistance Program helps reduce the cost of books for qualifying students. Students may receive textbook loans from the Running Start office and/or receive up to $175.00* to purchase or rent books at the PC Bookstore. ALL BOOKS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE RUNNING START OFFICE (rented books must be returned to the bookstore) at the end of each quarter.

Note: All students from Port Angeles School District (Port Angeles High School, Seaview Academy & Lincoln High School), QVSD (Forks High School & Quileute Tribal School), & CFSD (Clallam Bay High School), qualify for book assistance and fee waivers through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). However, they must request assistance by filling out a RS Book Assistance & Fee Waiver Application.
